SUNDAY IN MERIDA

For those thinking of making the move to the Yucatan here are a few reasons:
Mexico is the US' closest neighbor to the south, here you can enjoy a luxurious lifestyle for less.
Enjoy your life in your dream home on the beach or a glorious colonial in the heart of Merida. Looking for seclusion and privacy? Take a peek at some of the smaller villages located around Merida.

We who live at the beach do so for a reason, we are beach people! We love peace and quiet, cool gulf breezes, shushing palms and the smell of salty air. That doesn't mean that we don't love the city of Merida any less. It's a half an hour away, less time then it took to commute to work back home. Merida always has something cultural happening and Sundays are a great time to head into the city and check out the latest event.

This past Sunday we were fortunate enough to be invited to go to the Oaxaca festival with our dear friends Roberto and Anna. The festival took place at Parque Las Americas in Garcia Gineres. Garcia Gineres is a beautiful, historic and quiet area with more and more ex-pats looking to purchase homes there.

Roberto and Anna

Typical clothing from Oaxaca

Embroidered pocketbooks

Lots of hand tooled belts

Look at the detailed hand work in this dress!

These are a speciality of Oaxaca, fried crickets! I actually tried them, quite crispy and spicy.

And of course this is Mexico, must have some kind of Tequila!

Fresh fruit drinks, also abundant throughout the country.

This is where they have entertainment in the park, singing, dancing and shows. Merida has such beautiful architecture.
All in all another wonderful day in the beautiful capital of the Yucatan, Merida. If you are dreaming of a more relaxing and romantic lifestyle, the Yucatan has it all...rich culture, perfect climate...affordable living...wonderful, inexpensive health care and its proximity to the US and Canada. If I have captured your interest, let me help you live your dream! Contact us today! 3. Never imagined such a great opportunity would present itself. Don't have any real estate experience but have been involved in the family furniture business my entire life- Would be interested in more info-however can't manage to get down there until after the first of the year (have a growing 16 month old:-) ! Will certainly keep this thought in mind as we are quite serious...... Hopefully when the time is right you are still in the market for some honest, hard working people for your Merida office. Thanks so much for your response and hope to talk to you in the future. Enjoy Merida and all the amazing things Mexico has to offer....It is such a great place to live and raise a family.

  7. Hi Teresa...Just home from a trip to Guanajuato Mexico and still fantasizing about a move to Mexico! We are so ready for a better quality of life for our family and anxious about the possibility of relocating. Ages ago you suggested us thinking about real estate. Is this something you would train us to do? I have extensive sales experience but no formal training in the real estate industry but am eager to learn, hard working and honest. I have worked for the same family owned furniture store for 18 years and have a multitude of responsibilities. I am very much interested in architecture, design, space planning and homes in general so a career in real estate may just be up my alley. As a curiosity what could one anticipate income wise in the real estate market in Merida? Not looking to make millions....but a simple roof over our head and food on the table. Thank so much. Cheers:-)

  8. Hi there! Sorry to be so late answering you! We have had the busiest season ever and haven't even had a moment to think about my blog. We would love to speak with you, and yes we do provide training. If you would like to speak with me in person you can give me a call on my US phone: 302-200-0461 or drop me an email at yucatansandman@gmail.com.
